It seems like Randy Joe Galloway is always on the road, singing his songs for his legions of fans across America. IMN caught up with him for a quick interview. You might be surprised to find out a few “little” facts.
Q: Is there a back story behind "Walk Away"? GALLOWAY: Yes, I had a 5 year relationship that ended when we grew apart. The song has a line: "Its like standing on a bridge, both ends on fire and burning." With that reality in sight as the relationship was ending, I chose to walk away, rather than take the certain downward plunge that was inevitably coming. It was a hard decision emotionally to make. Life is not always easy. Q: Who would you most like to record a duet with and why? GALLOWAY: Joss Stone. The emotions flowing from her raw vocals is what most of my songs are about. It couldn't be anything but good. Q: Away from music, what do you like to do for fun? GALLOWAY: The easy answer for me on this one is fishing, hiking, picnics in the woods, and cooking a gourmet meal together with my fiance, Carol. Q: What is the one thing you think your fans do not know about Randy Joe Galloway? GALLOWAY: I spent several years as a bondsman/bail enforcement agent and was featured in a TV segment on Fox Carolina News called "Bounty Hunter in the Upstate," May 2003. Q: Who do you admire in the business? GALLOWAY: Foremost Bob Seger, Merle Haggard. There are many I admire for the work they have done and the impact their music has had on my generation, and generations to come. Q: Name your favorite song of all time. GALLOWAY: Wow, thats the hardest question so far. I have many songs I love, but the one that stands clear in my heart and mind is by the late Gary Moore, "Still Got The Blues.” I cover this song in my live shows, and have a connection to it that I've always felt deep in my soul from the very first time I heard it. His guitar work has inspired me to be a better player on both keyboards and guitar. This song speaks emotions from one heart to another in every way. “Walk Away” is Randy Joe Galloway’s latest and radio programmers and music critics alike are already raving about it. This single and songs from his If I Could CD are available now at i-Tunes, CD Baby and most Digital outlets. ![]()
